PENSAMIENTO DEL DIA – 23 DE ENERO 2012


La fuerza de un cocodrilo depende de que se encuentre en el agua; la fuerza del Dharma (Conducta Correcta) depende de que sea practicada. El Dharma será débil si se le saca de la práctica y se le lanza a la arena de las palabras. Sathya es un asunto de lenguaje y logra fuerza cuando se practica consistentemente. El término 'Fuerza' tiene aquí dos significados : fuerza Animal (Asurica) y fuerza Dhármica. En la epopeya del Mahabharatha, Bhima (el segundo de los cinco hermanos Pandava) tenía fuerza física, mas siendo que su hermano mayor Dharmaraja se mantenía a su lado, la fuerza de Bhima se volvía Dhármica. ¡Los Pandava fueron salvados por su adhesión al Dharma! Si no hubiera sido por su conducta correcta, habrían sufrido una derrota desde un comienzo. ¿Y por qué perdieron los Kaurava (los cien hermanos en contra de los cuales lucharon los Pandava) a pesar de su indudable fuerza? Carecían de fuerza Dhármica. Todo de lo que podían depender era pura fuerza animal.

A crocodile's strength depends on it being in water; the strength of Dharma (Right Conduct) depends on it being practised. Dharma will be weak when it is taken out of practice and thrown on the sands of words. Sathya is a matter of speech and it gets strength when it is consistently practised. The term ‘Strength’ here has two meanings: Animal (Asuric) strength and Dharmic strength. In the epic Mahabharatha, Bhima (the second of the five Pandava brothers) had physical strength, but as his elder brother Dharmaja was by his side, Bhima's strength became Dharmic. The Pandavas were saved by their adherence to Dharma! But for their right conduct, they would have suffered defeat right in the very beginning. And why did the Kauravas (the hundred brothers whom the Pandavas fought against) lose in spite of their undoubted strength? They lacked Dharmic strength. All that they could rely on was sheer animal strength.
