PARTHI HOY..!!! PARTHI TODAY...!!!_01-07-2011.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_ Friday, July 01, 2011

Faith is like a live volcano. Doubts are like seeds. No seed will sprout on a live volcano. If your doubts are multiplying, it means that your faith is weak and unstable, and akin to an extinct volcano. Where there are doubts, there can be no faith. Your doubts arise or disappear because of your past karma (action). If your faith is strong, no doubts will crop up. To realize Divinity you must first get rid of all your doubts. From time to time, God subjects you to various tests. These are not intended to be punishments as you may imagine, but to strengthen your faith. Always remember that the Divine acts as a witness. The Divine shows you the path to self-realization.

PARTHI HOY..!!! PARTHI TODAY...!!!_30-06-2011.

Sathya Sai Baba

------------------------------------------------------------

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_ Thursday, June 30, 2011

All of you must realize that the relationship between you and God is permanent, and is beyond the limitations of time and space. You should not waste your life thinking only of the physical relationship. The body is a passing thing. What you see externally is a burden. When you have made it a part of yourself it ceases to be a burden. It is like the food that a traveller carries on his shoulders for consumption on the way. As long as the food remains outside it is a burden. But when he has eaten it, he gets stronger and there is no burden on his shoulder. You must safeguard the Divinity you experienced and magnify it by contemplating on it internally. You should concentrate on the attainment of union with the Divine, which is permanent and beyond the limitations of time and space.

PARTHI HOY..!!! PARTHI TODAY...!!!_29-06-2011.

Sathya Sai Baba

-------------------------------------------------------------

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Wednesday, June 29, 2011

Upaasana means approaching near the Divine. Upaasana is often equated with fasting. This is not correct. When one is immersed in the bliss of Brahma-ananda (divine bliss of rapture), one gives up food of one's own accord. This constitutes true Upaasana. To subject oneself to fasting as a compulsory regimen is not Upaasana, but mere starvation. For instance, to keep awake on Shivaraathri night by watching films or playing cards is a caricature of the sacred vigil that one is expected to observe at that time. The experience of Divine Bliss is not to be achieved by the mastery of various spiritual practices. It is only when the heart is purified that divinity can be realized. There is no room for divinity in a heart filled with egoism, pride and hatred.

His divine form filled them with bliss. After giving Darshan, Swami spoke in Telugu. Chithoor Nagayya, the celebrated actor and devotee of Swami, was standing by Swami and was translating His discourse into Tamil. The audience was spellbound and enjoying every word of Bhagawan.

Suddenly, a small baby, barely a year old and lying in his mother's lap, began to wail loudly. All eyes turned towards the crying baby who was the cause of the disturbance. A few seconds passed. Everyone saw Swami on the dais gently smiling. He extended his open palm towards the crying child in the 'abhaya' mode , but suddenly closed it into a tight fist! That very moment, the child fell silent.

None could gauge the reason why the baby suddenly started wailing and why he, equally suddenly, stopped crying. Swami extended the closed fist now towards Nagayya, opened it and said, "A small 25-paise coin got stuck in that little baby's throat and I have removed it. Here it is!" Sri Nagayya was completely overcome by emotions or surprise and happiness and immediately announced it over the microphone.

The enraptured audience exploded into wild applause. Even though the little baby was right in her own lap, the poor mother did not know what had gone wrong with her child. It is obvious that, more than even one's own mother, God is much, very much, closer.

PARTHI HOY..!!! PARTHI TODAY...!!!_28-07-2011.

Sathya Sai Baba

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Your attitude to God should not be dependent on likes and dislikes. There are some devotees who worship God with devotion for some time. Then they turn against God. The reasons for these changes in attitude are traceable to their expectations from God. When they feel that their prayers are being answered and their desires are being fulfilled, they adore Him. But when their wishes are not fulfilled, they revile God in all sorts of words. This kind of devotion is based on self-interest and has nothing divine about it. One should not blame God for one’s difficulties. Pure devotion will not be affected by changes in circumstances or fortunes. True love is not based on any conditions. It is equal in joy and pain and is not affected by fluctuations in fortune.

Our Divine Lord is the last refuge.

It happened in Kodaikanal, a student along with his grand parents was with Bhagawan along with other devotees. Swami was returning back from Kodaikanal to a devotee’s house for night stay. Swami asked the grandmother, “Will you let your husband go with you or remain with me?”. She replied, “We will abide by your decision Swami.”

After dinner, all the devotees went to the terrace for rest. Suddenly the grandfather said, “Swami I feel dizzy.” Swami said, “Come here!” Swami asked him to close his eyes and lay his head on His lap. And then the old man breathed his last.

Swami turned to the old lady and said, “If you want I can bring him back to life but one thing, no one ever had or will have such good fortune of dying on the lap of God. It is up to you to decide.” She replied, “Swami, let him remain with you, I don’t want him to miss such a great fortune. Swami gave her a smile of reassurance. And thus the old man attained ‘Moksha’.

Once Bhagawan was asked by a Group of Journalists on 12th March 1999 as to who would lead the Sathya Sai Movement after Him?. Bhagawan replied with a Divine Smile " My Devotees Would lead My Movement and God will continue to Guide them ".

Believe firmly that everything is rendered holy by His Name. Do not reject Him; cultivate Prema (love) for the Lord. It has infinite potentiality. Do not mistake this temporary abode as your eternal dwelling place. Do not lose heart at evanescent troubles and short-lived tragedies. Immerse yourselves in the effort to attain the eternal Lord. The Lord will never give you up.

Ekam Sat vipraah bahudhaa vadanthi Agnim Yamam mathariswaana maahuh.

"shraddayagnih samidhanthe sraddhaahuuyathe havih, sraddhaam bhagasya muurdhani-vachasaa Vedayaamasi".

So Says Sai

In many Rig-vedic mantras this is clearly announced:

There is only just One; those who have seen the truth praise it in many ways: Agni, Yama, Mathariswan.

Ekam Sath vipraah bahudhaa vadanthi Agnim yamam mathariswaana maahuh.

This Brahman, the One without a second, is designated in the Rig-veda as Hiranyagarbha, Prajapathi, Viswakarma, and Purusha. The Hiranyagarbha hymn (sukta) and thePurusha hymn are classical examples of this vision. The way of living of the ancient Aryans is designated “dharma”. It can also be called “holy ritual (yajna)”. Their daily disciplines were marked by rituals, worship (puja), praise, surrender, and dedication. So, their life was full of devotion (bhakthi). The word devotion might not be used as such in the Vedic texts (Samhithas), but isn’t the word faith
(sraddha) found there?

It is only through faith that the flame of the sacrificial fire is lit and fed. Through faith alone do the offerings reach the Gods who are called. Let us praise faith, which is the highest form of worship.

shraddayagnih samidhanthe sraddhaahuuyathe havih, sraddhaam bhagasya muurdhani–vachasaa Vedayaamasi.

See how mighty the power of faith is!

The simple spontaneous disciplines of the Vedic Age gradually became complex and confused by the overgrowth of rituals and formal rules; with the passing of time, it was declared that dharma consisted of ritual (yajna) and oblation (homa) and that heaven could be gained only by the performance of such rites! Though the ritual was really a method of worship of the gods, value was shifted from the gods to the ritual itself. “The gods were only the means; those who desired heaven must do rituals.” Such was the turn the declaration took.

Sathya Sai Baba

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Saturday, June 25, 2011

Life is a long journey through time, and religion confers peace for the present and encouragement for the future. We must believe that we are at present undergoing the consequences of our own activities in the past. It will be a great source of peace and encouragement when people can be content with their present conditions because they know they themselves were the cause and know that if one does good and meritorious deeds now, it is possible to build a happy future. It is only when life is run on these two lines that morality and self-control can have a place in life. The power to adhere to these two ideals consists in the encouragement and the enthusiasm given by religion.

The Qualilities of a True Devotee

What are the qualities of a true devotee? The first of these is desirelessness (Anapeksha). A true devotee should not have desires. But, is it possible for you, endowed as you are with a body, mind and senses, to be without desires? One is bound to have some desire or the other. On the one hand, there are desires pertaining to the senses that confer momentary joy. On the other hand, there is a desire to transcend the senses. Thus, people are filled with many desires.

So what is needed to lead a desire-free life? There is nothing wrong in having desires, but all of them must be pleasing to God. You should practise the eternal principles based on Truth, and dedicate all your activities to God. Lead your life without the feelings of 'I' and 'mine' and offer everything to God. Only then can you attain the state of desirelessness.

Sathya Sai Baba

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Friday, June 24, 2011

Do not entertain in your mind the idea of purity or impurity while undertaking a spiritual practice. There is nothing impure in the world. When the Lord is immanent everywhere and in everything, how can anything be impure? Even if something appears to the eyes as impure, the moment it contacts the Name of the Lord, it becomes purified. Purity and impurity are the result of the mental reactions at a particular moment. When one is giving money to someone, one talks of choosing an auspicious time. But when one gets a chance to take money, every moment becomes auspicious! The mind is the reason for both the attitudes. Remember that everything is pure, everything is Divine.

As we have seen in this space before, Bhagawan had made it a practice to bless the outgoing Sevadal with His Darshan in the Poornachandra auditorium in an exclusive session immersing them in bliss. Continuing this Divine Tradition, on 22nd of June, the outgoing Sevadal batch from Gujarat assembled in the Poornachandra auditorium by 1415 hrs. There was a screening of a video (in Hindi) on Bhagawan's visit to North India in 1970 transporting these dedicated devotees down the golden path of nostalgia. The unmatched energy of His movements, the mischief in His smile and the compassion in His eyes was brought to life in the screen.

After the video, Sri Janakiraman Garu introduced the two speakers of the day, Sri S.V. Giri(Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust) and the State President of the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation-Gujarat, Sri Manohar G Trikannad.

Sri S V Giri, spoke in English. He appreciated the sevadal for their selfless service and their commitment to the cause. He lauded the pilgrims for the service activities that they have been performing in their own villages and prompted them to continue the blessed task. He emphasised on the point that the sevadal from Gujarat are very meticulous and efficient in their planning. He suggested that some initiatives can be taken up, so as to make the new sevadal get to understand the work and its requirements easily. He also said that the allegations which were being raised on the trust would be answered and appealed to the devotees to not be perturbed.

Sri Trikannad spoke in Gujarati and assured that the initiatives suggested by the former speaker will be carried out. Both speakers laid emphasis on the point that though Bhagawan is not physically amidst us, He is, was and always will be with us no matter what happens. Sri Janakiraman Garu thanked the devotees for the service rendered to the Mandir and the Trust and urged them to continue in this beautiful path of transformation through Service.

The session concluded with Mangala Arati and Prasadam distribution by 1545 hrs.

PARTHI HOY..!!! PARTHI TODAY...!!!_23-06-2011.

Pronto, cansada y exhausta, ¡terminará volviendo a ustedes!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Thursday, June 23, 2011

Let the mind run wherever it likes; just be careful not to follow it, seeking to discover where it is going! It will then wander about for some time as the fancy takes it. Soon, getting tired and exhausted, it will come back to you in the end! It is like a little child that knows nothing. Since the mother is following it and calling it back, it gets courage and confidence to run forward in any direction, but if the mother does not run behind the child and instead retraces her steps quietly, the child too, of its own accord, will run back to the mother! Carry on with the remembrance and meditation of the Divine Name and Form that you like best, in the manner you are accustomed to. In this way, you will acquire one-pointedness (Ekagratha); you will realise your heart’s desire.

http://www.saiwisdom.com

Parthi report_21-06-2011.

Sai Ram,

Many things are happening at the ashram. Do not believe what you read in the news media. There are a lot of phony stories circulating.

Baba’s residence was opened after being sealed when he went to the hospital. A large amount of cash, gold and ornaments were found. It was audited, recorded and placed in a bank. See Attached Report.

The valuables have become a source of controversy fueled by the media and by politicians who are grandstanding pretending to have the interest of people in mind including those of the foreigners.

This is surprising to many people. I remember back in the 70’s of being told how large quantities of cash and gifts were sent to Baba. He never requested them. They were placed in some warehouse.

In darshan, Baba never took money from anyone. If someone put money in an envelope, he would toss it back without opening it. In a few cases, the money was given to someone else. Sometimes Baba would tell a person to give the money directly to a particular individual.

But now, some people are wondering what to make of all of these items that were in his room. The basic question is this: Do you believe that Baba was (is) God or the Poornavatar?

If the answer is yes, end of subject. He knew what he was doing. We are unable to understand the actions of such a being of which there was never one like him on this planet.

What need would he have for any of these items? He can materialize anything and has. Baba used to materialize money to give to people especially foreigners who got stuck in India and needed to go home. He who could do anything why would he have a need for any material object.

Someone said that when Baba was in his room going through the mail that if there was money or something of value in the envelope that it was tossed away and it was placed in the vault.

It is my understanding that an accounting of all the items were done and the items deposited in a bank or elsewhere.

If you do not believe that Baba was God, then you have to decide, yes or no to what was written above.

It is interesting that Baba must have wanted it to be found since he could have made all the items disappear. People would have found an empty vault.

The items remaining are serving a higher spiritual purpose. It is leading in a direction that Baba wants.

Word is that the MahaSamadhi will be completed by July 10th and if understood correctly will be dedicated on that date.

Anil Kumar has been busy. He went for a few days to a Unity in Religion conference in Southall, United Kingdom. There were over 8,000 people there in a community that is one of the largest outside of India. 13 religions were represented. There were all sorts of activities including speeches, dances, singing and an interfaith parade. A few photos, (of course, Kumar is in some of them), will give a bit of a taste of the event.

There are events like this going on allover the world. We are Baba’s messengers with these events. He is relying on us to bring in the new age.

On Sunday June 19th, Kumar went to the Brindavan Campus for a 4:30 meeting with devotees which included bhajans as well as a talk. It will be available on his web site:

http://www.saiwisdom.com

The news media has been busy with misleading information. Early last week it was reported that Judge Bhagawati had resigned from the Central Trust even including a statement from him. Near the end of the week, Judge issued a statement that he was still a member of the Central Trust but had resigned from the Educational Trust as he was now Chancellor.

Ratan Tata came to the ashram on Friday which set off many rumors such as problems with the Trust, with the Vidya Vahini program and secret meetings with Trust people. It turns out that he was there on a personal visit and managed to see the Samadhi before leaving. He did meet with some Trust people about the launching of the Vidya Vahini educational project

To confuse matters more a car coming fro Puttaparthi was stopped with large amounts of cash. Rumors are flying that this is money was being smuggled out, the driver and/or car was connect to the Central Trust and a second person who was on a bus and arrested was connected to all this.

The media is jumping at conclusions with half facts. They are not interested in facts only in selling papers or news. Just remember that the integrity of Baba and the people Baba chose to serve with him as members of the Trust and in other capacities.

Keep your attention focused on what Baba was and still Is.

July 10th – MahaSamadhi will be completed.

Also there are no plans for a gold statue by the Samadhi.

Yajur Mandir, Baba’s residence will be opened to the public probably after Guru Poornima. Personal memorabilia will be displayed.

Attached are speeches given on May 4th and 6th 2011. This is the transcript as it appeared on Radio Sai. One talk I couldn’t copy but you can go to the website. http://media.radiosai.org/www/#

Thanks Chiang Mai.
