PENSAMIENTO DEL DÍA – 20 DE DICIEMBRE 2011


Primero habrán de conquistar al deseo. Para esto, no es necesario ni el librar una guerra ni el uso de palabras gratas para persuadirlo a desaparecer. No se desvanecerá ni por temor a la primera ni por apreciar estas últimas. Los deseos son objetivos; pertenecen a la categoría de lo 'visto'. Con la convicción de que "Yo soy quien ve y no lo visto", deberán liberarse del apego y conquistar al deseo. Deberán observar desde afuera el funcionamienro de la mente; no debieran involucrarse con ella. Este es el significado de esta disciplina. La facultad de la mente es como una potente corriente de electricidad. Ha de ser observada a distancia, sin contactarla ni tocarla. Tóquenla y quedarán reducidos a cenizas. Y asimismo, el contacto y el apego le dan a la mente una oportunidad para arruinarles. Mientras más se alejen de ella, tanto mejor. Por su propio bienestar, deberán hacer el mejor uso de ella a través de hábiles métodos.

You must first conquer desire. For this, neither waging a war nor the use of pleasing words to persuade desire to disappear is necessary. It will not vanish for fear of one or for favour of theother. Desires are objective; they belong to the category of the ‘seen’. With the conviction "I am the see-er, not the seen", you must release yourself from attachment and conquer desire. You must watch the working of the mind, from outside it; you should not get involved in it. That is the meaning of this discipline. The faculty of the mind is like a strong current of electricity. It has to be watched from a distance and not contacted or touched. Touch it and you are reduced to ashes. So too, contact and attachment give the mind a chance to ruin you. The farther you are from it, the better. By skillful methods, you have to make the best use of it for your own welfare.
