Muchas personas se sienten orgullosas por haber prestado servicio a los demás. Están ansiosas de que se las elogie como benefactoras y generosas. Esta actitud revela su Ajnana o ignorancia. Deben avanzar hacia una etapa superior llamada Vijnana, en la cual el corazón es transformado por la adhesión a la verdad, la no violencia y la compasión. Una persona así puede entonces entenderse a sí misma, a su parentesco con el Cosmos y con el Creador del Cosmos. Entonces vive y actúa de acuerdo con esa comprensión, sin ignorancia, duda ni desarmonía.

Many people feel proud that they have been of service to others. They are eager to be praised as beneficent and munificent. This attitude reveals their Ajnana, ignorance. They must journey to a higher stage called Vijnana, when the heart is transformed by adherence to truth, non-violence, and compassion. Such a person can then understand himself, his kinship with the Cosmos, and with the Creator of the Cosmos. Then he lives and acts in accordance with that understanding, without ignorance, doubt or disharmony.

Somos juzgados por el Sadhana y no por el número de templos que ha visitado o la cantidad y el costo de la ofrenda que han realizado en los santuarios. No cuenten el número de veces que han repetido el nombre. El Señor responderá sólo cuando lo llamen desde lo más profundo de sus sentimientos. Será sordo, incluso si lo llaman un millón de veces, de forma automática y artificial, con la lengua y no con el corazón.

You are judged by Sadhana and not by the number of temples you have visited or the quantity and cost of the offerings you have made in those shrines. Do not count the number of times you have repeated the Name. The Lord will respond only when you call Him from the depths of your feelings. He will be deaf even if you call Him a million times automatically and artificially, with the tongue and not with the heart.
