Al explicar las características de un devoto, Rama le dijo a Narada: “Quienes , con discernimiento y renunciación ( viveka y vairagya), con humildad y sabiduría (vinaya y vijnana) están conscientes del conocimiento de la Realidad, quienes están siempre inmersos en la contemplación de Mis juegos (leela), quienes tienen presente Mi nombre en todo momento y toda condición, y quienes derraman lágrimas de amor siempre que escuchan el nombre del Señor pronunciado por cualquier boca: estos son Mis auténticos devotos“. Cuando el niño crece y se convierte en adulto, la madre no prestará tanta atención a su seguridad. El Señor no le presta mucha atención al sabio (jnani). Para el jnani, su propia fuerza es suficiente. Por lo tanto, hasta que puedan confiar en sus propias fuerzas, deben ser niños en las manos del Señor, como devotos de la forma, ¿verdad? Nadie puede convertirse en devoto del Supremo Sin Forma (Nirguna bhaktha) sin haber sido devoto de la forma. (PremaVahini, Capítulo 48)

The Lord doesn’t pay much attention to the wise one (jnani). For the jnani, their own strength is enough. Therefore, until one can rely on one’s own strength, one must be an infant in the Lord’s hands, as a devotee of the form, right? No one can become a devotee of the Formless Supreme (Nirguna bhaktha) without having been a devotee of the form. (Prema Vahini Ch 48)
