PENSAMIENTO DEL DIA – 1 DE OCTUBRE 2011

Puede que piensen que están disfrutando placeres, más la verdad sea dicha, son los placeres los que les están disfrutando a ustedes. Ellos socavan sus energías, desecan su discernimiento, consumen los años que tienen asignados e infectan su mente con egotismo, envidia, malicia, odio, codicia y lujuria. Muchos que aseveran venerar los Vedas y los Shaastras (escrituras) no están practicando lo que estos enseñan. Las escrituras enseñan que es importante eliminar las malezas de la lujuria y la codicia, del odio y el orgullo en el jardín del corazón. En el terreno limpio, planten las fragantes flores del Prema (amor) y cultiven los árboles frutales del Dharma (virtud). Nunca se lancen a la acción acicateados por impulsos del momento; ponderen los pros y contras; sopesen los beneficios frente al posible perjuicio; actúen entonces de manera de evitar un dolor y de no infligírselo a otros. Esto vale tanto para los asuntos mundanos como para el campo espiritual.

You may think that you are enjoying the pleasures; but really speaking, it is the pleasures that are enjoying you. They sap your energies, dry up your discrimination, consume your allotted years, and infest your mind with egoism, envy, malice, hate, greed and lust. Many who claim to revere the Vedas and Shaastras (scriptures) are not practising what they teach. The scriptures teach that it is important to remove the weeds of lust and greed, of hate and pride in the garden of your heart. In the grounds thus cleared, plant the fragrant flowering plants of Prema (love) and cultivate tasty fruit-bearing trees of Dharma (virtue). Never plunge into action spurred by momentary impulse; ponder deeply over the pros and cons; weigh the expected benefits against the likely harm; then act so that you escape pain and you do not inflict pain on others. This is true in worldly matters as well as in the spiritual field.

¿Qué debemos hacer durante el 10 día de Navarathri?

La importancia de Durga, Lakshmi y Saraswati, ha de ser comprendida. Las tres representan a tres tipos de potencias en el hombre: fuerza de voluntad (ichchaa Shakti), el poder de la acción intencional (kriya Shakti), y el poder del discernimiento (jnaana Shakti).

¿Qué se debe hacer durante estos diez días del festival Navarathri? 

Convertir su fuerza de voluntad (ichchaa Shakti) en un anhelo por Dios. 

Convertir la acción intencionada (kriya Shakti) en una fuerza para realizar acciones Divinas. Convertir su poder de discernimiento (jnaana Shakti) en lo divino.

What should we do during the 10days of Navarathri ?


The significance of Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati has to be rightly understood. The three represent three kinds of potencies in man: will power (ichchaa shakthi), the power of purposeful action (kriya shakthi), and the power of discernment (jnaana shakthi). 

What should do during these ten days of the Navarathri festival? Convert your will power (ichchaa shakthi) into a yearning for God. Convert purposeful action (kriya shakthi) into a force for doing Divine actions. Convert your power of discernment (jnaana shakthi) into the Divine Itself.
