Durante los diez días de Dasara, son destruidos los Rakshasas (demonios) bajo la forma de las malas cualidades. Rakshasas no significa seres demoníacos. Las malas cualidades en la gente son los demonios. La arrogancia es un demonio. Los malos pensamientos son demonios. Cuando el Señor asigna castigos, puede que parezcan rigurosos. Mas dependen del momento, el lugar y las circunstancias en las que actúa el Señor. La mantequilla se puede dividir con un dedo. Pero se necesita un poderoso martillo para quebrar una pieza de fierro. El Señor trata de manera Sáthiwica con personas Sáthwicas. El Señor aplica el arma Rajásica frente a personas Rajásicas. Por desconocimiento, la gente le atribuye formas y cualidades temibles a lo Divino. Eso no es correcto. Lo Divino no tiene sino un atributo : el Amor. El Amor es Dios. El Amor satura el Cosmos. Vean el mundo a través de los ojos del amor y experimentarán bienaventuranza.

During the ten days of the Dasara, the Rakshasas (demons) in the form of wicked qualities are destroyed. Rakshasas do not mean demonic beings. The bad qualities in people are the demons. Arrogance is a demon. Bad thoughts are demons. When the Lord metes out a punishment, it may appear harsh. They depend on the time, place and the circumstances in which the Lord acts. Butter can be split with a finger. But a powerful hammer is needed to break a piece of iron. The Lord deals with Sathwic persons in a Sathwic way. The Lord applies the Rajasic weapon against Rajasic persons. Unknowingly, people attribute dreaded forms and qualities to the Divine. This is not proper. The Divine has only one attribute, Love. Love is God. Love pervades the Cosmos. View the world through the eyes of love and you will experience bliss.

Swami le preguntó a alguien "¿Sabes cómo vivir una larga vida? ¿Sabes el secreto de una larga vida?"
"Swami, no sé.
Swami dijo: "Es muy fácil."
Cual es, Swami?
Swami dijo: "Sólo dos cosas son necesarias".
¿Cuales son?
Bhagavan dijo: "Uno es el sacrificio y la otra es el amor o prema. El sacrificio y el amor les dará una larga vida útil. Thyaga o el sacrificio es la medicina, mientras que el amor es la dieta. Si se toma el medicamento sin seguir la dieta, la enfermedad se nunca se cura. Si seguimos la dieta sin tomar el medicamento, estamos más cerca de la tumba. A menos que tengamos la dieta y la medicina en conjunto, la enfermedad no puede curarse. Así que la medicina del sacrificio y la dieta del amor ", ambos son necesarias para vivir una vida larga.
Swami dio un ejemplo de Rockefeller Estados Unidos. Hoy en día, en los Estados Unidos esta la Fundación Rockefeller. Están trabajando en caridad en todo los Estados Unidos.

¿Quién dijo esto? Sus médicos en los Estados Unidos dijeron esto. Los médicos en los EE.UU. son muy, muy responsables, según mi conocimiento, ya que serán demandados en los tribunales de justicia si algo sale mal. Entonces tendrían que pagar dinero a lo largo de su vida, oh sí - tienen que ser muy responsable.
Por lo que los médicos dijeron: "Usted no va a vivir mucho tiempo".
Así Rockefeller comenzó a distribuir su dinero a todo el mundo. Las instituciones educativas, instituciones médicas y muchos otros en todo Estados Unidos, con el resultado que vivió durante casi 90 años. Una persona, que debería haber dejado este planeta tierra hace 40 años, obtiene una extensión de su vida. ¿Cómo es eso posible? Debido a su sacrificio.
Lo que se requiere hoy en día para nuestros corazones, que son duros como piedra, es derretirse. Hasta las piedras se marchitan y se convierten en arena, con la exposición continua a la lluvia y el calor. Del mismo modo, nuestros corazones de piedra se derriten, al ver la miseria de la gente, así que vamos a estar dispuestos al sacrificio.

Swami gave an example from the United States Rockefeller. Today, in the United States there is the Rockefeller Foundation. This charity is working all over the United States. How did this come about? Rockefeller was fabulously rich -- very, very rich. He had no time to think of anything other than making money. He reached the stage where he forgot the amount of money he had because he was so busy.
But Rockefeller fell sick at the age of about 48. And the doctors said, “Look here, you are not going to survive for more than eight or ten months. You are not going to live much longer.
Who said this? His doctors in the United States spoke this. Doctors in the U.S. are very, very responsible, to the best of my knowledge, because they will be sued in the courts of law if anything goes wrong. Then they would have to pay money throughout their lifetime, oh yes -- so they have to be very responsible.
So those doctors said," You won't live very long".
So Rockefeller started distributing his money to everybody. Educational institutions, medical institutions and many others all over the United States, with the result that he lived for almost 90 years. A person, who should have left this planet earth 40 years earlier, got an extension of his life. How is that possible? Because of his sacrifice.
What is required today is for our hearts, which are hard like stone, to melt. Even stones wither and become ordinary sand with continuous exposure to rain and heat. Similarly, our hearts of stone should melt, seeing people's misery, so we will be prepared to sacrifice.
