Jesús sacrificó Su vida y derramó Su sangre para inculcar el Amor y la Compasión en el corazón del hombre, para que estén felices cuando los demás están felices y tristes cuando los demás están tristes. Hoy los insto a renunciar, en honor a esta ocasión santa, a dos males de la mente: ¡la auto alabanza y la difamación! ¡Renuncien a ellos! En lugar de ello, adopten un hábito: el hábito del servicio amoroso a los afligidos. Si gastan todo su tiempo y energía en la comodidad mundana y el deleite sensual, están deshonrando esta existencia humana. No desperdicien su vida tan sólo en disfrutar de la comida; coman lo que necesitan para vivir. Mantengan su cuerpo como el templo donde reside Dios. Manténgalo limpio, fresco y fragante, desarrollando la compasión y el amor; dejen que surjan de ustedes pensamientos, palabras y acciones santos. No lo degraden utilizándolo para tareas bajas, triviales y profanas. Estén donde estén, ¡tomen esta resolución hoy mismo! (Divino Discurso, 25 de diciembre de 1976).
Jesus sacrificed His life and poured out His blood to instill Love and Compassion in the heart of man, so that you are happy when others are happy and sad when others are sad. Let Me call upon you today, to give up, in honour of this holy occasion, two evils from your mind: self praise and talking scandal! Give them up! Instead adopt one habit: the habit of loving service to the distressed. If you spend all your time and energy in worldly comfort and sensual delight, you are disgracing this human existence. Do not spend your life in just enjoying food; eat as much as is necessary for living. Maintain your body as temple where God resides. Keep it clean, fresh and fragrant by developing compassion and love; Let holy thoughts, words and deeds emerge from you. Do not demean it by using it for low, trivial and unholy tasks.
