Sobrepasar los límites de la modestia va contra su dharma innato; cruzar sus límites desencadena muchas calamidades, incluso la destrucción de la gloria misma de la feminidad. Sin modestia, la mujer queda desprovista de belleza y cultura. La falta de modestia convierte la vida de una mujer en algo hueco, no importa lo rica que pueda ser en otros talentos. La modestia, que la eleva a la altura de la santidad sublime, es una mezcla de las siguientes cualidades: humildad, pureza de pensamiento y modales, docilidad, entrega a los más altos ideales, sensibilidad y un carácter dulce. Para una mujer, esta es la más valiosa de todas las joyas. A través de su sentido innato del decoro, una mujer modesta va a mantenerse siempre dentro de los límites. Se da cuenta automáticamente cuál conducta es apropiada y cuál no. La modestia es la verdadera prueba de la nobleza de una mujer. Una mujer modesta va a ceñirse sólo a conductas y actos virtuosos, y va a ejercer su autoridad en su hogar y fuera de él, en la comunidad como así también en el mundo. Overstepping the limits of modesty is against her innate dharma; crossing its limits brings about many calamities, including destroying the very glory of womanhood. Without modesty, woman is devoid of beauty and culture. Absence of modesty makes the life of a woman, however rich in other accomplishments, a vacuum. Modesty lifts her to the heights of sublime holiness. Modesty is a blend of these qualities - humility, purity of thought and manners, meekness, surrender to high ideals, sensitivity and sweetness of temper. It is the most invaluable of all jewels for women. Through her innate sense of propriety, a modest woman will ever keep within limits. She becomes automatically aware which behaviour is proper and which is not. Modesty is the true test of a woman’s grandeur. A modest woman will stick only to virtuous deeds and behavior, and will wield authority in the home and outside, in the community as well as in the world.
