Cada objeto en el mundo, se trate de un pájaro o de una oveja o de cualquier otra cosa, tiene un valor por sí mismo. Sólo el hombre ha perdido su valor debido a su participación en actividades mundanas. Las personas no tienen gratitud hacia los cinco elementos que les confieren de forma gratuita innumerables preciados beneficios como la luz, el calor, el aire y el agua. Ustedes tienen que pagar un precio por pequeños servicios como la electricidad y el agua corriente. Pero, ¿qué precio pagan por la luz del sol que ilumina al mundo? Esta luz es un regalo de la Divinidad. ¿Qué precio pagan por una suave brisa o un fuerte aguacero? Dios les está proveyendo gratuitamente esos valiosos beneficios. ¿Qué gratitud muestran las personas a Dios por todo esto? La única manera de mostrar el agradecimiento a los cinco elementos es Smarana (cantar el nombre del Señor sin cesar). (Discurso Divino, 14 de septiembre de 1997).
Every object in the world, whether it is a bird or a sheep or anything else, has a value of its own. Man alone has lost his value because of his involvement in mundane pursuits. People have no gratitude to the five elements which confer on them gratis innumerable precious benefits like light, heat, air and water. You have to pay a price for so many small amenities like electricity and running water. But what price does you pay for the light of the Sun who illumines the world? This light is a gift of the Divine. What price do you pay for a soft breeze or a heavy downpour of rain? God is providing freely such precious benefits to you. What gratitude do people show to God for all these? The only way to show one's gratitude to the five elements is Smarana (to chant the Lord's name incessantly). (Divine Discourse, Sep 14, 1997.)
