El jivi (yo individual) creyendo que está dividido del todo, lo Universal, está sujeto al deseo y la desesperación, el amor y el odio, el sufrimiento y el gozo, y es atraído por el mundo de los nombres y las formas. Tal persona se caracteriza por estar “aprisionada”, y necesita urgentemente liberación. Para ser liberado, se debe abandonar la dependencia y el apego a la creación (prakriti). El ciego no puede ser salvado por el ciego. ¿Cómo puede una persona que es tan desvalida como la otra, quitarle su pobreza, sufrimiento y dolor? Los pobres se acercan a los ricos; los discapacitados visuales buscan la ayuda de los que pueden ver. De la misma manera, el que está aprisionado y cegado por las dualidades de la creación, debe refugiarse en el tesoro inagotable de la compasión, el poder y la sabiduría, es decir, el Alma Divina (Atma). Entonces se liberará de la miseria y del dolor, y se deleitará en la riqueza de la bienaventuranza espiritual.(Ananda). (Sutra Vahini, Cap 6)
The jivi (individual self) believing that it is divided from the whole, the Universal, is subject to desire and despair, love and hate, grief and joy, and is attracted by the world of name and form. Such a person is characterised as ‘bound’, and urgently needs liberation. To be liberated, you must give up dependence and attachment to the creation (prakriti). The blind cannot be saved by the blind. How can a person who is as helpless as the other, remove their poverty, suffering, and pain? The poor approach the affluent; the visually impaired seek guidance from those that can see. So too, one who is bound and blinded by the dualities of creation must take refuge in the inexhaustible treasure of compassion, power, and wisdom, namely, the Divine Soul (Atma). Then, you will be rid of destitution and grief, and revel in the wealth of spiritual bliss (Ananda). - Sutra Vahini, Ch 6
