PENSAMIENTO DEL DIA – 7 DE NOVIEMBRE 2011
Recuerden que el contentamiento no le convertirá a uno en un vago. Es una actitud de carácter puro (Sathwic). Hará que la mente se vuelva siempre hacia el Señor. Les salvará de las tribulaciones por las que uno pasa para satisfacer deseos sin importancia y para complacer necesidades egoístas. Dirigirá los talentos humanos hacia esfuerzos que eleven. La persona contenta también será veraz y, por ello estará en constante comunión con el Atma. Vale decir, dicha persona podrá estar inmersa en la meditación por largos períodos sin descansar ni sentirse fatigada. El contento es la vía fácil hacia la meditación.

Remember that contentment will not make one an idler. It is an attribute of true pure (Sathwic) character. It will make the mind turn always towards the Lord. It will save you from the tribulations one goes through to satisfy unimportant wants and to cater to selfish needs. It will direct human talents towards efforts that elevate. The contented person will also be truthful and will therefore be in constant communion with the Atma. That is to say, such a person can be immersed in meditation for long periods without rest or feeling fatigued. Contentment is the royal road to meditation.

Era una anciana, en Uttar Pradesh que solía regalar muchos cosas como caridad.
Ella solía andar con la cabeza gacha.
Algunas personas le preguntaron por qué se humillaba de esa manera cuando
podía mantener la cabeza alta, por todos los numerosos regalos que
hacia a todo el mundo.
Ella replicó modestamente: "El Señor me da muchas cosas con sus mil manos,
todo lo que le estoy dando es con una sola mano.
¿Qué razón hay para sentirse orgullosos acerca de lo que estoy haciendo?.
¿La gente no debería sentirse avergonzado de dar a otros con una mano lo que Dios les da con mil manos? "

things as charity. She used to go about with her head bowed. Some
people asked her why she was humbling herself in that manner when she
could hold her head high because of all the numerous gifts she was
making to all and sundry. She modestly replied, "When the Lord is
giving me so many things with His thousand hands, all that I am giving
is only with a single hand. What reason is there for feeling proud
about what I am doing? Should not people feel ashamed about giving to
others with one hand what God gives them with a thousand hands?"
