PENSAMIENTO DEL DÍA – 17 DE NOVIEMBRE 2011
La riqueza y la opulencia son efímeras; los cargos y la autoridad son temporales; el aliento vital es una llama vacilante en el viento. La juventud es una feria que dura tres días, y los placeres y la suerte son fardos de pesar. Si, sabiéndolo, dedican este limitado lapso de vida al servicio del Señor, serán en verdad bendecidos. Busquen refugio a los pies del Señor desde un comienzo. Todo es falso, pasajero y afin a los castillos en el aire. Consideren esta verdad, acérquense a Dios y glorifíquenlo; eso tan sólo confiere alegría permanente. Dentro del cuarto llamado cuerpo, en la caja fuerte llamada corazón, se encuentra la preciosa gema de la sabiduría (jnaana). Cuatro astutos ladrones – lujuria, ira, codicia y envidia (kaama, krodha, lobha y asuuya) – están al acecho para robarla. Dense cuenta de este peligro antes de que sea demasiado tarde. Refuércense con el apoyo del Guardián Universal, el Señor, y mantengan intacta la gema. Eso les hará ricos en amor (prema) y en paz (shanthi).

Riches and wealth are short-lived; office and authority are temporary; life-breath is a flickering flame in the wind. Youth is a three-day fair and pleasures and fortunes are bundles of sorrow. Knowing this, if you devote this limited term of life to the service of the Lord, then you are indeed blessed. Seek refuge at the Lord’s feet early on. Everything is untrue, impermanent and akin to castles in the air. Contemplate on this truth, approach God and glorify Him; that alone confers permanent joy. Inside the room called body, in the safe called the heart, the precious gem of wisdom (jnaana) exists. Four wily thieves - lust, anger, greed and envy (kaama, krodha, lobha and asuuya) are lying in wait to rob it. Awaken to this danger before it is too late. Reinforce yourself with the support of the Universal Guardian, the Lord, and keep the gem intact. That will make you rich in love (prema), and peace (shanthi).

Sai Ram - El mejor regalo de Swami
Una vez, uno de los Antiguos Alumnos de la Universidad Sri Sathya Sai , se presento a una audiencia. Uno de los entrevistadores le preguntó sobre una cuestión de forma. Él le dijo que había oído hablar de las cadenas, anillos y pulseras que materializaba para sus devotos. Le preguntó si a este muchacho si había recibido ningún regalo de Swami. El niño que al parecer no había recibido ningún regalo material de Swami, rápidamente respondió que procedían de un pueblo atrasado.

La educación había sido un sueño para él. Sin embargo, la confianza y la competitividad para hacer frente a la Junta la entrevista y para contestar a sus preguntas, era el mayor regalo que había recibido de Bhagavan.

Once, an Alumni of the Sri Sathya Sai University appeared for an interview. One of the interviewers asked him an out of way question. He told him that he had heard of Swami giving chains, rings and bracelets. He asked him if this boy had received any gifts from Swami. The boy who apparently had not received any material gifts from Swami quickly replied that he hailed from a backward village. Education would have remained a dream for him. But the confidence and competence that makes him face the interview board and reply to their questions, is the greatest gift that he had received from Bhagawan.

Una vez que uno se entrega completamente al Señor y ofrece todo lo que hace, así como cuando, se va a hacer, y cómo, se va a hacer, a los pies del Señor, él se ocupará de todo. Para lograr este nivel de entrega no puede haber ningún rastro de ego, no debería haber ningún percepción de sí mismo.
