Lo que existe es únicamente el espectador tanto del estado del soñar como del de la vigilia – el "yo". Conozcan a ese "yo" y sepan que ese "yo" es lo mismo que "Él" (Dios). Esto pueden saberlo únicamente mediante una intensa disciplina espiritual, que no sea desfigurada por la ira, la envidia ni la codicia – los vicios que brotan el ego. Deben vigilar y controlar cuidadosamente estos vicios. Cuando se enojan, actúan como poseídos por un espíritu maligno; su rostro se torna feo y aterrador. Como la luz roja que parpadea frente a un peligro, sus ojos y rostro se tornan rojos y actúan como una advertencia para ustedes. Acaten esa señal y retírense tranquilamente hacia un lugar solitario. No le den rienda suelta a palabras airadas. Una vez que ganen sabiduría, el ego desaparecerá naturalmente. Por lo tanto desarrollen sabiduría y disciernan reconociendo la naturaleza efímera de todas las cosas materiales. Así el ego fallecerá de muerte natural en el campo de vuestro corazón y ustedes alcanzarán la salvación.

What exists is only the perceiver of both the dream and the waking state - the "I”. Know that “I”; and know that “I” is the same as ”He” (God). You can know this only by intense spiritual discipline, that is not marred by anger, envy and greed - the vices that sprout from ego. You have to carefully watch and control these vices. When you get angry, you act as if you are possessed by an evil spirit; your face becomes ugly and frightful. Like the red bulb winking when danger is approaching, your eyes and face become red and act as a warning to you. Heed that signal and quietly get away to a lonely spot. Do not give free vent to wicked words. Once you grow in wisdom, ego will naturally fall away. So develop wisdom and discriminate by knowing the ephemeral nature of all objective things. Then ego will die a natural death from the field of your heart and you will attain salvation.

One has to worship God both in times of pain and pleasure. Unfortunately, due to the effect of Kali Age, people worship Him when everything goes well and accuse Him in times of despair.
When it was decided that all the devotees of Jesus should be crucified along with Him, even His closest devotees, Peter, Matthew, and Paul refused to identify themselves as His followers. Can these be true devotees? One should be prepared to sacrifice anything for the sake God and His message. Under any circumstances, do not disobey the command of God. That is determination. Determination gives rise to sacrifice, which leads to immortality.
