PENSAMIENTO DEL DÍA – 8 DE DICIEMBRE 2011

Mantengan siempre pensamientos elevados. Cuando el aire llena un balón, toma la forma de este. Cuando llena un globo, tomará la forma del globo, ovalado o esférico. Así también, la mente toma la forma de los objetos a los que está apegada. Si se fijara en cosas insignificantes, se vuelve insignificante. Si se fija en cosas grandes y nobles, se engrandece y ennoblece. La cámara saca una foto de todo aquello hacia lo que se la enfoca, y ese también es el caso con la mente. Disciernan antes de desarrollar un apego. Si su apego fuera el cónyugue y los hijos, terrenos y edificios, cuentas bancarias y saldos, experimentarán dolor cuando éste se deteriore. Desarrollen un apego sincero y firme hacia lo Divino, y crecerán en amor y esplendor. La devoción no es un asunto de rosarios y barbas, ni es una veneración demostrada con flores, alcanfor y campanilleos. Son juzgados por su disciplina espiritual, sus pensamientos y su control de los sentidos.

Dwell always on lofty thoughts. When air fills a football, it takes the form of a ball. When it fills a balloon, it takes the form of the balloon, oval or spherical. So too, the mind takes the form of the objects with which it is attached. If it gets fixed on small things, it becomes small. If it is fixed on noble and grand things, it becomes noble and grand. The camera takes a picture of whatever it is pointed at, so is the case with the mind. Discriminate before you develop attachment. If your attachment is towards spouse and children, lands and buildings, bank accounts and balances, you will experience grief when they decline. Develop sincere and steady attachment towards the Divine and you will grow in love and splendour. Devotion is not a matter of beads and beards, nor is worship signified by flowers, camphor or bell-ringing. You are judged by your spiritual discipline, thoughts and sense-control.

Seek God in the depths of your self, not in tantalizing, kaleidoscopic nature. The body is granted to you for this high purpose; but, you are now misusing it, like the person who cooked his daily food in the gem-studded gold vase that came into his hands as an heirloom ".
