El desechar la consciencia corporal debiera ser su deeksha (empeño constante). Esto debe expresarse en una práctica real como la disciplina (nishtha) y el entrenamiento de los sentidos y las emociones (sikshana). El agua o el fuego como tales no pueden mover un tren. Ambos tienen que cooperar para producir un tercer elemento – el vapor, el que moverá al tren. Consideren a la disciplina como algo más importante incluso que el alimento. Este cuerpo (deha) no es más que un instrumento para vivenciar al Residente (Dehi). Alimenten a su espíritu con determinación y con fe, tan escrupulosamente como lo hacen con el cuerpo. Lograrán la unión con el Residente sólo cuando la agitaciones mentales se aplaquen y se alcance la ecuanimidad. Sea cual fuere la senda – devoción, sabiduría o acción desinteresada, debiera llevarles a la ecuanimidad. Para atravesar a salvo la riada del continuum nacimiento-muerte, deberán construir este resistente puente llamado 'disciplina inflexible' (nishtha).

To give up body consciousness must be your deeksha (steady pursuit). This must express itself in actual practice as discipline (nishtha) and training of senses and emotions (sikshana). Water or fire as such cannot move a train. They must both co-operate to produce a third thing - steam, which moves the train forward. Treat discipline as more important than even food. This body (deha) is but an instrument to realize the Indweller (Dehi). With determination and faith feed your spirit as scrupulously as you feed the body. You will attain union with the Indweller only when your mental agitations are curbed and equanimity is achieved. Whatever be the path - devotion, wisdom or selfless action, it must lead you to achieve equanimity. To cross safely across the flood of birth-death-continuum, you must build this sturdy safe bridge called unflinching discipline (nishtha).

La devoción a Dios es fundamental para llevar una vida virtuosa. Swami, a través de su amor divino y ha su manera inimitable, evoca en cada uno de nuestros corazones, la devoción y construye nuestra fe.

La devoción a Dios es fundamental para llevar una vida virtuosa. Swami, a través de su amor divino y ha su manera inimitable, evoca en cada uno de nuestros corazones, la devoción y construye nuestra fe.
Me gustaría compartir con ustedes, uno de esos casos, cuando Swami a través de un ejemplo sencillo y atractivo capturó el corazón de un joven en un instante, haciendo de él un devoto de por vida!
Durante una entrevista con Swami, nuestro hijo le pidió hacerle una pregunta.
El muchacho dijo: "Swami, cual es su coche favorito?"
Mi corazón se hundió y me dije a mí mismo: "¿Es esta una pregunta que debemos hacerle a Swami? El tiempo con Swami es tan precioso ! "
Swami dio una hermosa sonrisa y respondió: "Morris Minor" y contó una historia de cómo él solía conducir a Madrás, y cómo había obtenido una licencia.
"Antes manejaba usted mismo Swami ?", Exclamó el niño, con ojos de asombro !
Swami había tejido un poco de su magia y nuestro hijo lo miró a Swami paralizado.
Swami continuó diciendo, "Yo te daré un gran coche. Si lo tomas ? Tu no debes decir que no ! "
Y el chico, un poco intimidado , dijo, "OK!"
Swami le preguntó: "¿Me das tu coche?"
La respuesta fue automática, "Swami ¡Claro!"
"¿Debo manejarlo?"
Y el chico volvió a decir: "Claro, Swami".
Swami luego, sonriendo, puso su mano en el corazón de nuestro hijo y le dijo: "Tu corazón es el coche y soy el conductor ".
Una de las lecciones más profundas de devoción, había sido enseñada por Swami, de la manera más simple posible!
Swami dice: "Ten fe en Él" y "Esten libres de temor, ansiedad y agitación. Entregate a Dios, su gracia te puede salvar. Su sabiduría te puede iluminar. Su poder puede superar todos los obstáculos. La fe y la entrega son las manifestaciones de devoción. "

Sai Ram - "Your Heart is the car and Iam the Driver"
Devotion to God is fundamental to leading a virtuous life. Swami, through His Divine Love and in His own inimitable way, evokes in each of our hearts, this devotion and builds our faith. I would like to share with you, one such instance, when Swami through a simple and appealing example captured the heart of a young boy in an instant, making him a devotee for life!
During an interview, Swami asked our young son to ask Him a question.
The boy said, “Swami, which is your favourite car?”
My heart sank and I thought to myself, “Is this the question to ask Swami? Time with Swami is so precious!”
Swami gave a lovely smile and answered, “Morris Minor” and went on to tell stories of how He used to drive to Madras and how He obtained a license.
“You used to drive it yourself Swami?” Exclaimed the boy, stars in His eyes!
Swami had woven a bit of magic and our son looked at Swami transfixed.
Swami went on to say, “I will give you a big car. Will you take it? You mustn’t say no!”
And the boy, a bit overawed by now, said, “OK!”
Swami then asked, “Will you give me your car?”
Prompt came the answer, “Sure Swami!”
“Shall I drive it?”
And the boy again said, “Sure, Swami.”
Swami then smilingly placed His hand on our son’s heart and said, “Your heart is the car and I am the
driver.”
One of the most profound lessons in devotion had been taught by Swami in the simplest possible manner!
Swami says, “Have faith in Him” and “Be free from fear, anxiety and agitation. Surrender to God; His Grace can save you. His wisdom can enlighten you. His power can overcome all obstacles. Faith and surrender are the manifestations of devotion.”

Q: A veces uno tiene la sensación de que está muy cerca de Dios y otras veces uno siente que Dios esta muy lejos. Swami puede explicar las razones de estos sentimientos?
Bhagavan: Los celos y la ira son los responsables de estos sentimientos. Si estos son controlados, entonces uno está en una posición de control del Espíritu Supremo (Paramatma).

Aquí hay una pequeña historia. Una vez el rey Akbar fue informado por algunos de sus nobles musulmanes, que Guru Nanak estaba disfrutando de gran popularidad entre un gran sector de la población musulmana.

Q: Sometimes one gets a feeling that One is very close to God and at other times one feels that God has moved very far away. Would Swami please explain the reasons for those feelings?
Bhagawan: Jealousy and anger are responsible for these feelings. If these are controlled, then one is in a position to control the Supreme Spirit (Paramatma). That is, Swami comes near, otherwise he appears far from you. Sometimes the boys (referring here to His college boys) do not understand as to why Swami appears to be angry with them. They have to realize that their thoughts, which Swami knows, are responsible for Swami's reactions.
Here is a small story. Once King Akbar was informed by some of his Moslem noblemen, that Guru Nanak was enjoying great popularity with a large section of the Moslem population and he should be firmly put down. Now Akbar had a Hindu mother, so he was very tolerant towards non-Moslems and he invited Guru Nanak to visit his palace. But, Nanak refused the invitation and said, "I have only one King and that is God. Worldly kings are there and gone tomorrow. I pay homage only to
God."
Akbar realized the wisdom in Nanak's reply, so he invited Nanak to pray in a mosque. At the mosque, Guru Nanak created a commotion by laughing loudly when the priest began to recite the prayers. All those assembled there were angry with Nanak, but Akbar counseled patience. Then Akbar began to recite the prayers and to the surprise, Nanak began laughing even louder. Now Akbar demanded an explanation of Nanak's behaviour and in reply Nanak said, "You were thinking of your Arabian horses (Akbar had received these as a gift the day before) during the recitation of your prayers and the priest was thinking of his ill son. So what could I do but laugh at this hypocrisy." His reaction was based on their thoughts and not on their external behaviour.
Swami is not affected by external appearances or performances. Swami is always looking for internal purity only.
