Las escrituras enseñan “Maathru devo bhava” lo que significa ‘Venera a tu Madre como Dios’. Deben venerar a su madre que les ha educado con amor, preocupación y sacrificio. Por muy famoso que uno pueda ser, si no honrara a su madre, uno mismo no merecerá respeto. Una persona cuyo corazón sea tan duro como para no derretirse ante las súplicas de la madre, no merece sino el ridículo. Este sentimiento de amor y de respeto debiera aplicarse también al país que le viera nacer. Han de mantener en alta estima a su país y observar su cultura. Veneren a su idioma materno y aprendan a usarlo bien. Al mismo tiempo no debieran desarrollar disgusto ni inquina hacia otros idiomas o países. Conviértanse en instrumentos aptos para proteger, amar y cuidar tanto de su madre como de su patria.

The scriptures teach, “Maathru devo bhava”, meaning ‘Revere your Mother as God’. You must revere your mother, who has brought you up with love, care and sacrifice. However famous one may be, if one does not honour their mother, they do not deserve respect. A person whose heart is so hard that it does not melt at the pleadings of the mother, deserves nothing but ridicule. This feeling of love and respect should also apply to the country which gave birth to you. You must hold your country in high esteem and follow its culture. Revere your own mother-tongue and learn to use it well. At the same time, you should not develop dislike or hatred against other languages or countries. Make yourselves a fit instrument to protect, love and care for your mother and motherland.

Easwaramma Day

Today, the passing on of Swami's mother is remembered among all devotees.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to Mother Easwaramma for being the instrument in giving Sathya Sai Baba as a guide to all of us.
Special prayers are held at the Samadhi where Swami's mother and father's samadhi's are present.


Buddha Poornima 

The day of Vaisakh Purnima, which usually falls in the month of May, is considered most sacred by Buddhists all over the world. This day is significant for three reasons. It was on this day that Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, was born as Prince Siddhartha at Lumbini in Nepal in 560 B.C. It is also the day when He attained enlightenment at Gaya in India, after years of search and enquiry into the causes and remedy for sorrow in the world. Thereafter, Siddhartha came to be known as Buddha, or the Enlightened one. He preached that desires are at the root of all sorrow and hence advocated the path of right conduct and the right use of senses as the way to enlightenment. This auspicious day is observed as Buddha Purnima with reverence and piety.
