Hoy, en realidad, no ha pasado nada nuevo. Para celebrar algo nuevo en el Tiempo, no esperen hasta que los minutos, las horas, los días y los meses sumen un año. Celebren el próximo minuto, haciendo un honesto esfuerzo por obtener la alegría permanente. No tiene nada de malo buscar la alegría o Ananda. Sólo los medios empleados son los que hacen al intento deleznable o vano. De hecho, es para llenarse de Ananda que ha venido al mundo el ser humano, equipado con la palabra, la mente, el intelecto y la conciencia. De todos los seres vivientes, sólo el ser humano tiene esta oportunidad y la capacidad necesaria. Pero el ser humano ha olvidado su meta, y vaga en la jungla de los placeres triviales.
Truly speaking, nothing new has happened today. Do not wait for the celebration of something new in Time until the minutes, the hours, the days, the months add up to a year. Celebrate the immediately succeeding second by an honest effort to get lasting joy. There is no touch of meanness in trying to get joy or Ananda. It is only the means that make it unworthy and futile. As a matter of fact, it is to fill himself with Ananda that man has come to this world, equipped with speech, mind, intelligence and conscience. Only man has the chance and the capacity among all living beings. But man has forgotten his goal and is wandering in the wilderness of trivial pleasures.

Podemos toparnos con grandes dificultades si adherimos estrictamente a la Verdad y practicamos el Dharma (rectitud); pero teniendo presente la bienaventuranza que nos espera al final, podemos tolerar las dificultades y soportarlas con gusto. Sólo los inteligentes pueden liberarse a sí mismos, mediante el conocimiento de la Verdad. Los demás seguirán siendo esclavos.
Strict adherence to Truth and practice of Dharma (right conduct) may entail great hardship, but having in view the bliss that awaits one in the end, one can put up with that and bear it gladly. Only the intelligent can liberate themselves by knowing the Truth. The rest will remain bound.

Todas las personas padecen la enfermedad del nacimiento y la muerte, por lo que tienen derecho al medicamento llamado Brahmavidya (conocimiento espiritual), que es el tratamiento eficaz. Según su nivel de iluminación, su grado de desarrollo en la disciplina espiritual y su asimilación de la droga, cada persona mejorará en salud; es decir, en paz y ecuanimidad.
All persons are afflicted by the disease of birth and death, and therefore entitled to the drug called Brahmavidya (spiritual knowledge), which is its effective cure. According to the stage of realization and the degree of development in spiritual discipline attained by each, and to the extent of assimilation of the drug, each person will improve in health, that is to say, in peace and equanimity.

Cuando estás inmerso en el sueño profundo, ¿qué pasa con tus alegrías y tristezas, tus ganancias y tus pérdidas? En ese momento no tienen realidad alguna; ni tampoco tienen realidad más tarde. En ambos momentos son sólo creaciones de tu imaginación. Quien conozca este secreto gozará siempre en la alegria de su propio Ser Interno.
When you are immersed in deep sleep, what happens to your joys and sorrows, your profits and losses? They have no reality then; nor have they any reality later. At both times they are but the creations of your fancy. He who knows this secret will always exult in the joy of one's Inner Self.

¿Qué es Mounam (el silencio)? No es sólo mantener la boca cerrada. Significa alejarse de la influencia de todos los sentidos, y estar siempre establecidos en la conciencia de nuestra propia Realidad. Cuando la mente se retira del mundo exterior, también la lengua se calla. Los demás sentidos la siguen. Eso es auténtico Mounam.
What is Mounam (silence)? Not merely keeping the mouth shut! It means getting beyond the influence of all the senses and being always established in the consciousness of one's own Reality. When the mind withdraws from the outer world, the tongue too becomes silent. All other senses follow suit. That is genuine Mounam.

Conocer a Brahman (la Divinidad) sólo en teoría, no te lleva a ninguna parte. Incluso puedes saber que allí hay Ananda, o bienaventuranza. Todo esto no sirve de nada. Tienes que dedicar la vida a ganar esa bienaventuranza; emprende la disciplina necesaria para adquirirla y experimentarla. Sólo entonces merecerás la gracia del Señor, y el logro de Brahman. Sólo entonces podrás experimentar la verdadera Ananda.
Merely theoretically knowing Brahman (Divinity) leads to nowhere. You may even know that there is Ananda or bliss in this. All this is of no use. You have to dedicate your life to win that bliss; enter upon the discipline needed to acquire it and experience it. Only then do you deserve the grace of the Lord and the attainment of Brahman. Only then can you experience true Ananda.

El Atma no tiene forma. Está separado del cuerpo en que habita. El cuerpo está sujeto a nacer, crecer y deteriorarse, pero el Atma está libre de todo esto. El Atma no tiene deseos, impulsos, ni ansias. Está más allá y por encima de todos los atributos. Prakrithi (la creación) es el mar. Purusha, (el Creador) es un loto sobre el agua: imperturbable, desapegado y sereno.
The Atma is formless. It is separate from the body that it inhabits. The body is subject to birth, growth and decay, but the Atma is free from all this. The Atma has no desires, no impulses, no cravings. It is above and beyond all the attributes. The Prakrithi (creation) is the ocean. Purusha (creator) is as a lotus on water, unaffected, unattached and unruffled.

Filosofía que no se entiende, escrituras que no se practican: el mundo actual está lleno de ellas. Hablar de ellas es perder el tiempo. Los verdaderos cambios deben hacerse en la conducta y comportamiento de cada día, porque entran en la experiencia de todos. Fácilmente se practican y se capta su propósito. En cada pequeña actividad y palabra, debemos discernir y adoptar lo mejor. Este es el signo del auténtico sadhaka (aspirante espiritual).
Philosophy that cannot be understood, scriptures that are not practised, the present world is full of these. It is a waste of time to talk of them. Real change must be made in the daily conduct and behaviour of man, for these are within the experience of all. They can be easily practised and their purpose grasped. In every little activity and word, one should discriminate and adopt the best. That is the sign of the genuine Sadhaka (spiritual aspirant).

La auténtica Shanti (Paz) se gana mediante el control de los sentidos. Shanti se obtiene, y se mantiene, cuando se calman las agitaciones mentales que se elevan como olas; cuando se alisan las ondas y torbellinos que son los gustos y las aversiones, el amor y el odio, la pena y la alegría, la esperanza y la desesperación. Para conseguir Shanti, el único medio es Prema (el Amor). Prema es el combustible que alimenta la divina llama de Shanti. Prema produce la unidad de la humanidad entera; esta unidad, en combinación con el conocimiento espiritual, produce la Paz.
Genuine Shanti (peace) is won by the control of the senses. By calming the mental agitations that surge like waves, levelling the swirls and whirls of likes and dislikes, love and hate, sorrow and joy, hope and despair, Shanti is earned and maintained. To get Shanti, Prema (love) is the only means. The fuel of Prema yields the Divine flame of Shanti. Prema brings about unity of all mankind, and this unity combined with spiritual knowledge will bring about peace.

Los deseos puros también nos atan. Sin embargo, aunque fueran numerosos, no son impedimentos definitivos. A su debido tiempo tienen que desaparecer, incluyendo el más puro de los deseos: el anhelo por Moksha, o la liberación. Sólo entonces será posible que nos hagamos uno con la Divinidad. Se llega a una etapa en que ni lo bueno, ni lo malo, atraen ni repelen.
Even pure desires are a bondage. But they are not hindrances, however many they may be. The purest of desires, the craving for Moksha or liberation, has also to disappear in time. Only then can you become one with the Divine. One attains a stage when neither good nor bad will attract or repel.

El ser humano necesita un cuerpo sano para poder tener una mente sana y llena de buenos pensamientos. Debemos notar que el propósito de los deportes y de la música es otorgar salud y felicidad al ser humano. Hay tres beneficios que se derivan de deportes y juegos: el espíritu de equipo, el entendimiento mutuo y la alegría. Las personas, aunque hablen diferentes idiomas y tengan diferentes hábitos y culturas, hallan en el campo de juego un vínculo común, un espíritu de camaradería. La verdadera educación consiste en cultivar buenos pensamientos y adquirir buenas cualidades, tales como veracidad, devoción, disciplina y dedicación. Esta cualidades, que siirven para impartir salud y alegría al cuerpo sutil, también se adquieren a través de los juegos y los deportes.
Man needs a healthy body in order to have a healthy mind filled with good thoughts. It must be recognised that the purpose of sports and music is to confer health and happiness on man. There are three benefits to be derived from sports and games: team spirit, mutual understanding and joy. Even if men speak different languages and differ in their habits and cultures, in the field of sports they have a common bond, a spirit of camaraderie. True education consists in the cultivation of good thoughts and acquiring good qualities like truthfulness, devotion, discipline, and dedication. These are also the qualities that should be acquired through sports and games. These qualities serve to impart health and joy to the subtle body.

Portando en el brazo el amuleto de Jnana, podemos ser inmunes a la mala influencia de las estrellas dañinas que son las atracciones sensuales. El ser conscientes de Jnana nos hace osados, pero no por ello debemos dar rienda suelta a los sentidos. En cuanto al mundo exterior, debemos estar siempre vigilantes; por el contrario, debemos estar siempre absortos en la contemplación de nuestra propia Realidad Interior. Ese es el sello distintivo del que conoce la Verdad Superior.
With the amulet of jnana around his arm, one can escape the evil influence of the vile stars called sensual attractions. But one should not, out of the boldness born of the consciousness of jnana, give free vent to the senses. One should be always vigilant regarding the external world. One should always be immersed in the contemplation of one’s own Inner Reality. That is the sign of the knower of the Higher Truth.

Quien haya sojuzgado a la mente, será siempre el mismo, tanto en los buenos tiempos como en los malos. La pena y la alegría son tan sólo alteraciones de la mente. Ésta sólo se ve afectada cuando se vincula con los sentidos y con el cuerpo. Para lograr el control sobre la mente tienen que sublimarse los impulsos y los deseos. El deseo excita a la mente y la hace correr tras los sentidos. No es suficiente con haber conquistado uno solo de los sentidos; todos ellos deben ser dominados por completo.
He who has subdued the mind will be the same in good times and bad. Grief and joy are but alterations of the mind. It is only when the mind is associated with the senses and the body that it is affected. Impulses and desires have to be sublimated in order to achieve mastery over the mind. Desire excite the mind and make it rush towards the senses. It is not enough if only one sense is conquered, all of them should be mastered completely.

El día de Sankranthi señala la llegada del grano, fruto de sus labores, a casa de los campesinos. Es un ansiado día de descanso, en que ellos hallan paz interior, después de un período de duro trabajo. "Samyak kranthi iti Sankranthi." Sankranthi otorga paz, y anuncia la llegada de los cambios que se esperan. Saca a relucir la alegría interior de la gente. Produce un cambio en el estilo de vida. Genera pensamientos sagrados. Oren de corazón por el bienestar de la humanidad. Sólo si el mundo es feliz, podrán ustedes ser felices. Hay una relación íntima e inseparable entre ustedes y el mundo. Canten el Nombre Divino. Oren por el bienestar del mundo, y participen en actividades de servicio.
Sankranthi day marks the arrival in the farmers' houses of the grains that are the fruit of their labours. It is also a cherished day of rest after a period of hard work when they can enjoy peace of mind. "Samyak kranthi iti Sankranthi." Sankranthi confers peace and heralds a welcome change. It brings out the inner joy in people. It effects a change in lifestyle. It generates sacred thoughts. Pray wholeheartedly for the welfare of humanity. You can be happy only when the world is happy. There is an intimate and inseparable relationship between you and the world. Chant the Divine Name. Pray for the welfare of the world and participate in service activities.

Alguien que carezca de fe en la Rectitud no puede comprender que, mediante su práctica, se pueda obtener alegría. Explayarse sobre la Rectitud ante una persona así, es tan inútil como esperar que alguien totalmente sordo oiga el sonar de una caracola. De modo que cuando enseñen a alguien acerca de la Rectitud, evalúen si esa persona tiene fe y determinación, y el entusiasmo para poner en práctica la Rectitud. Sólo con ese tipo de personas se debe tratar.
To a person who has no faith in righteousness, the joy derived from its observance is incomprehensible. To dilate upon it before such a person is as useless a venture as blowing a conch before a person who is stone deaf. So when righteousness is taught to a person, ascertain whether that person has faith and earnestness, and the eagerness to practise it. Only such persons must be dealt with.

El verdadero Dharma (acción correcta) reside en estar inmersos en la bienaventuranza átmica, la Visión Interior, la fe firme en la identidad entre nuestra verdadera naturaleza y el Absoluto, y la percepción de que todo es Brahman (la Divinidad). Estos cuatro puntos constituyen el auténtico Dharma. El objetivo del Dharma es hacer que el individuo abandone el apego a la naturaleza exterior, y a la ilusión que ella causa. Hace que el individuo se dé cuenta de su Realidad, o más bien que deje de darse cuenta de lo que hasta ahora tomaba por real, para que su Realidad pueda revelarse en su genuina identidad.
The true Dharma (right conduct) lies in being immersed in Atmic bliss, the Inner Vision, the steady faith in the identity of one's real nature with the Absolute and the realization that all is Brahman (Divinity). These four constitute authentic Dharma. The aim of Dharma is to make the individual give up the attachment to external nature and the illusion it causes. It makes the individual realize its Reality, or rather, un-realize what it had up to now taken to be real, so that it may stand revealed in its genuine identity.

Pueden estar llevando a cabo una cantidad de prácticas espirituales, pero no se envanezcan de ello. En primer lugar purifiquen el corazón. No den cabida al hedor de los deseos mundanos. Llenen el corazón con la fragancia de las virtudes. No obtienen mayor beneficio de la mera lectura de libros o el escuchar discursos. ¿Y de qué sirve cantar el Nombre Divino con una mente contaminada? Hoy el mundo está plagado con todo tipo de contaminaciones. Los pensamientos, palabras y acciones del ser humano también están contaminados. Purifiquen sus corazones. Cultiven Shradda (la determinación) y Bhakti (la devoción), porque Shraddavan Labhate Jnanam (con la fe se gana la sabiduría).
You may be performing a number of spiritual practices, but do not feel proud of them. Firstly, purify your heart. Do not give scope for the foul smell of worldly desires. Fill your heart with the fragrance of virtues. You do not get much benefit by merely reading books or listening to discourses. And, what is the use of chanting the Divine Name with a polluted mind? Today the world is afflicted with all types of pollution. Man’s thoughts, words and deeds are also polluted. Make your hearts pure. Develop Shraddha (steadfastness) and Bhakti (devotion) in you, for Shraddhavan Labhate Jnanam (with faith, wisdom is won).

En la práctica diaria, cuando los actos están motivados por el principio básico de la Realidad del Atma, todo acto se convierte en un acto de Dharma (rectitud). Un acto así, nos bendecirá con el fruto de Shanti (la paz). Pero cuando el acto está motivado por la conveniencia y el interés personal, se convierte en pseudo Dharma. Luego, es esclavizante, no importa cuán atractivo pueda ser.
In daily practice, when acts are motivated by the basic principle of the Reality of the Atma, every act becomes an act of Dharma (righteousness). Such an act will bless one with the fruit of Shanti (peace). But when acts are motivated by convenience and selfish interest, it becomes pseudo-Dharma. It is then a bondage, however attractive it may be.

Debemos darnos cuenta de que así como el cuerpo sólo puede estar sano cuando la sangre está pura, la verdadera bienaventuranza sólo puede experimentarse cuando la mente está llena de pensamientos de Dios. La Divinidad no puede ser descubierta mediante experimentos. Para tomar conciencia de esta Divinidad intrínseca del ser humano, el camino real es el camino de la espiritualidad. Las nueve formas de devoción que se mencionan en las escrituras, puede que no revelen directamente a Dios, pero ciertamente muestran el camino a la percepción de Dios. De ellas, el cantar el nombre del Señor es la más simple. Cualquiera sea la forma de adoración, austeridad o meditación que se adopte, la base es el nombre del Señor. Cantar el nombre del Señor es esencial para cruzar el turbulento mar de la vida.
One should realize that just as the body can be healthy only so long as the blood is pure, real bliss can be experienced only when the mind is filled with thoughts of God. Divinity cannot be discovered by experiment. To realize this inherent divinity in man the royal path is the path of spirituality. The nine forms of devotion mentioned in the scriptures may not directly reveal God, but they do show the path to God-realization. Of these, chanting the name of the Lord is the simplest. Whatever form of worship, penance or meditation one may adopt, the foundation is the Lord's name. Chanting the Lord's name is essential for crossing the turbulent ocean of life.

La esencia de todas las religiones y el mensaje de todas las escrituras son una sola cosa con el destino de la humanidad. Pero debido al egoísmo, a la estrechez de miras y al interés personal, la religión es utilizada como pretexto para promover diferencias y conflictos. Todas las religiones tienen como doctrinas básicas la moralidad, la rectitud, la caridad, la verdad, la tolerancia y la no violencia. Pero con el paso de los años, el ser humano ha olvidado estas verdades, y en lugar de la unidad ha cultivado tendencias separatistas. Como resultado se ha desvanecido el respeto por los valores humanos. Es esencial reconocer la unidad divina que impregna a toda la aparente diversidad de la existencia humana.
The essence of all religions, the message of all scriptures and the destiny of all mankind is the same. But because of selfishness, narrow-mindedness and self-interest, religion is used as a pretext for promoting differences and conflicts. Morality, integrity, righteousness, charity, truth, forbearance and non-violence are basic tenets of all religions. But over the years, men have forgotten these truths and have fostered divisive tendencies in the place of unity. As a result, respect for human values has vanished. It is essential to recognise the Divine unity that suffuses all the apparent diversity in human existence.

Perder Vishwasa (la fe en Dios) es lo mismo que perder Shwasa (el aliento vital). No importa lo que ocurra, debemos continuar con fe inquebrantable haciendo nuestro Sadhana (ejercicio espiritual) . Este es el sello distintivo de la verdadera devoción. La devoción no consiste meramente en entonar Bhajans, ejecutar rituales o cantar el Nombre Divino. Ustedes deben instalar firmemente a la Divinidad en sus corazones. Deben cerciorarse de que en sus mentes no encuentren cabida los deseos mundanos. Reduzcan todos los deseos a cenizas, en el fuego de la sabiduría. Si tan sólo un residuo de mundanalidad queda en ustedes, se multiplicará y les hará perder el rumbo. Para poder librarse de las malas acciones y los malos hábitos, cerciórense de no tener siquiera un rastro de deseo.
Losing Vishwasa (faith in God) amounts to losing Shwasa (life-breath) itself. Come what may, one should continue to do one's Sadhana (spiritual exercise) with unflinching faith. This is the sign of true devotion. Devotion does not constitute merely singing Bhajans, performing rituals and chanting the Divine Name. You should firmly install Divinity in your heart. You should take care that worldly desires find no place in your mind. Burn to ashes all desires completely in the fire of wisdom. Even if a trace of worldliness is left in you, it will multiply manifold and lead you astray. In order to free yourself from bad deeds and bad habits, make sure that you do not have even a trace of desire in you.

El apegarse a personas y posesiones es la causa de todos los pesares. Si reducimos los apegos y cultivamos el amor a Dios, podemos reducir las penurias y experimentar más felicidad. Cuanto más amamos a Dios, más bienaventuranza experimentamos. El ser humano se ve inmerso en las penurias porque ansía lo físico en lugar de ansiar a Dios. Si transforma su deseo de cosas materiales en deseo por el Supremo, disfrutará de una felicidad inmensa. Lo único que se requiere es ver a la Divinidad en todo. Esto es la auténtica devoción. Entonces el trabajo se convertirá en adoración, y cada acto será sagrado.
Developing attachment to persons and possessions is the cause of all sorrow. By reducing attachments and developing love for God, one can reduce misery and experience more happiness. The more one loves God, the more the bliss one experiences. Men are plunged in misery because they hanker after the physical instead of yearning for God. If men transform their desire for material objects into the desire for the Supreme, they will enjoy immense happiness. All that is necessary is to see the Divine in everything. This is true devotion. Work will then turn into worship and every act rendered holy.

Lo bueno y lo malo, la felicidad y la pena, el mérito y el pecado, dependen de las acciones del ser humano. De tal acción, tal resultado. Pero hoy el ser humano ignora la ley de la acción, y actúa como quiere. Es fácil permitirse acciones pecaminosas, pero es extremadamente difícil soportar los malos resultados que ellas producen. Los Upanishads dicen: «Thasmai Namah Karmane» (mis saludos a la acción). Ofrezcan su Namaskar (saludo) a la acción que ejecutan. Deben ofrecer su saludo a la acción que ejecutan, para que se vuelva sagrada, les traiga buen nombre y contribuya al bienestar del mundo. Quien aspire al bienestar del mundo debe cerciorarse de que sus pensamientos y acciones estén de acuerdo con su noble aspiración.
Good and evil, happiness and misery, merit and sin depend on man's actions. As is the action, so is the result. But today man ignores the law of action and acts as he pleases. It is easy to indulge in sinful deeds but it is extremely difficult to bear the bad results they yield. The Upanishads say, "Thasmai Namah Karmane" (my salutations to action). Offer your Namaskar (salutation) to the action you perform. What is Namaskar? It is giving up the sense of ego. You should offer your salutation to the action you perform so that it becomes sacred, brings you good name and contributes to the welfare of the world. One who aspires for the welfare of the world should see to it that his thoughts and actions are in accordance with his noble aspirations.

El apego al mundo sólo puede ser destruido por el apego al Señor. Si quieres adherir a Sathya (la verdad) y Dharma (la rectitud), debes ver en cada acto el reflejo de la Gloria del Atma. Entonces el apego al Señor transmutará el apego al mundo en una pura ofrenda. Attachment to the world can be destroyed only by attachment to the Lord. If you want to adhere to Sathya (truth) and Dharma (righteousness), you must see in every act, the reflection of the Glory of the Atma. Then attachment to the Lord will transmute the attachment to the world in to a pure offering.

La mente debe ser desviada de los deseos mundanos por medio de la constante contemplación en Dios. Esta es la manera de trascender las dualidades de dolor y placer. El ser humano tiene que despertar del sueño de la ignorancia, y darse cuenta de su esencia divina. Está todavía lleno de miedo, porque no tiene confianza en sí mismo. Un pájaro puede afontar una tormenta porque tiene fe en sus alas. Pero el hombre sucumbe a los más leves reveses de la fortuna porque no confía en el poder del Espíritu. Ante todo, las personas deben contar con el poder de la Divinidad. Con confianza en su propio Ser, deben dedicarse a buenas acciones. Este es el propósito de la vida.
The mind should be turned away from mundane desires by constant contemplation on God. That is the way to transcend the dualities of pain and pleasure. Man has to wake up from the sleep of ignorance and realize his divine essence. Men today are filled with fear because they have no confidence in themselves. A bird can brave a storm because it has faith in its wings. But man succumbs to the slightest reverses of fortune because he does not rely on the power of the Spirit. People must rely primarily on the power of the Divine. With confidence in the Self, they should devote themselves to good deeds. This is the purpose of life.

Si quieres que la paz reine en el mundo, primero debes cultivar la paz en tí mismo. ¿Dónde está la paz? Emana de nuestro corazón. El corazón es fuente de paz, verdad, rectitud y amor. Ignoras al corazón y buscas la paz en el mundo exterior. Sólo cuando llenes tu corazón de amor habrá paz en el mundo. Cualquiera sea tu trabajo, hazlo con amor. Hoy el mundo está en conflicto porque el ser humano carece de amor puro. La paz reinará suprema en este mundo sólo cuando el ser humano haya desarrollado el amor puro.
If you want peace to reign in the world, then you should first develop peace in yourself. Where is peace? It emanates from our heart. The heart is the source of peace, truth, righteousness and love. You are ignoring the heart and are searching for peace in the external world. Only when you fill your heart with love will there be peace in the world. Whatever work you do, do it with love. The world is in turmoil today as man lacks pure love. Peace will reign supreme in this world only when man develops pure love.

Alcanzar el Absoluto no depende sólo de la maestría en Brahmavidya (conocimiento espiritual). Está más allá del alcance del mero estudio, la erudición o la indagación espiritual. El Absoluto se puede conocer sólo mediante Upasana (práctica espiritual o adoración). Si un erudito, con todo el peso del conocimiento, se sumerge además en Upasana, su vida es ciertamente santificada.
The attainment of the Absolute does not depend solely on mastery of Brahmavidya (spiritual knowledge). It is beyond the reach of mere study, scholarship or intellectual quest. It is only by Upasana (spiritual practice or worship) that it can be realized. If a scholar with all the weight of learning also gets immersed in Upasana, his life is indeed sanctified.

Tu Sadhana (práctica espiritual) debe ser hecha con total fe, sin dar cabida a duda alguna. Cultiva el amor a Dios. No hay nada más grande que eso. A medida que tu amor se fortalezca, el Espíritu en ti brillará con más esplendor. El crecimiento espiritual llama a restringir los deseos. Además debes librarte de apegos y aversiones. Los tres grandes enemigos del ser humano son Kama (deseo), Krodha (ira) y Lobha (codicia). El deseo destruye la devoción, la ira aniquila la sabiduría, y la codicia envenena toda acción. Estos tres vicios son letales para Sath-Karma (las buenas acciones), Upasana (la devoción) y Jnana (la sabiduría espiritual). La única manera de librarte de ellos es quemarlos en Prema-Agni (el fuego del Amor Divino).
Sadhana (spiritual practice) must be done with complete faith and without any room for doubt. Cultivate love for God. There is nothing greater than that. As your love grows stronger, the Spirit in you will shine brighter. Spiritual growth calls for restraint on desires. In addition, you also have to get rid of attachments and aversions. The three great enemies of man are Kama (desire), Krodha (anger) and Lobha (greed). Desire destroys devotion, anger annihilates wisdom, and greed poisons every action. These three vices are deleterious to Sath-Karma (good deeds), Upasana (devotion) and Jnana (spiritual wisdom). The only way to get rid of them is to burn them in Prema-Agni (the fire of Divine Love).

Si ganas la riqueza del amor puro, te conviertes en la persona más rica del mundo. Quien está satisfecho es el más rico del mundo, y quien tiene muchos deseos es el más pobre del mundo. Hoy el ser humano está lleno de deseos, de pies a cabeza. Mientras tengamos deseos nunca podremos ser felices ni serenos. Abandona los deseos, y comprueba por ti mismo cuánto amor y cuánta dicha obtienes. La bienaventuranza que experimentarás será muy superior a toda la felicidad que hayas experimentado antes. Toda la dicha está dentro de ti. Pero imaginas que está afuera. Lo que está afuera es sólo el reflejo, la reacción y el eco de lo que está dentro de ti.
If you earn the wealth of pure love, you become the richest person in the world. He who is contented is the richest man in the world and the one who has many desires is the poorest man in the world. Today, man is filled with desires from top to toe. As long as one has desires, one can never be happy and peaceful. Give up desires and see for yourself how much love and bliss you get. The bliss you experience will be far superior to all the happiness you have experienced before. All the bliss is within you. But you are imagining that it is outside. What is outside is only the reflection, reaction and resound of what is within you.

Ni la casa más confortable, equipada con todos los lujos que ansía el ser humano, puede dotarnos de Shanti (paz y contento). Éstos sólo pueden ganarse entregándonos a Dios, quien es el auténtico centro de nuestro ser. Dios es la fuente del contento. Alcanzando a Dios, el espíritu puede quedar inmerso en la alegría. Dios es El único que alimenta a todos con Ananda (bienaventuranza). Si Dios no resplandeciera en el firmamento del corazón, ¿cómo se podría siquiera vivir?
Even the most comfortable house equipped with all the luxuries man craves for, cannot endow one with Shanti (peace and contentment). That can be won only by surrender to God, who is the very core of one's being. God is the source of contentment. Attaining Him, the spirit can be immersed in joy. God alone feeds all with Ananda (bliss). If God is not shining in the firmament of the heart, how can one even live?

Mathru Devo Bhava, Pithru Devo Bhava (Reverencia a tu madre y a tu padre como a Dios). Debes entender que los padres son realmente Dios. Si haces felices a tus padres, el mundo entero estará feliz. No tiene sentido adorar a Dios sin reverenciar a los propios padres. En primer lugar ofrece tu adoración a tu madre, ya que ella te ha dado nacimiento. Es debido a la nobleza de la madre que el niño logra su buena fortuna. Tus padres te han dado su sangre, su dinero, y te han criado con gran amor y cuidado, sin ahorrarse dolores. Entonces debes amar a tus padres y estarles agradecido. Eso es auténtica Bhakti (devoción). No hay mayor Bhakti que esta.
Mathru Devo Bhava, Pithru Devo Bhava (Revere your mother and father as God). You must understand that parents are verily God. If you make your parents happy, the whole world will be happy. It is meaningless to worship God without revering one's own parents. First of all, offer worship to your mother as she is the one who has given you birth. It is because of the nobility of the mother that the children attain good fortune. The parents have given you their blood, their wealth and have brought you up with great love and care, sparing no pains. So, you must love your parents and be grateful to them. That is true Bhakti (devotion). There is no greater Bhakti than this.
