Muchas personas realizan el ritual de adoración (puja) a Dios, Le adoran y quieren seguirle. ¿En beneficio de quién son estas ofrendas? ¡Son sólo para nuestro propio beneficio y no para el de Dios! Consideren este ejemplo. Cuando pensamos en algo emocionante, nos encontramos con que nuestras palabras muestran energía positiva y nuestras acciones también muestran entusiasmo. Por otro lado, si tenemos pensamientos tristes, nuestro cuerpo externo reflejará la tristeza que nuestra mente está experimentando. Tomemos un ejemplo aún más simple - ¡piensen en una lima y piensen que la están cortando! Si les gusta la lima, ¡encontrarán saliva en la lengua! En realidad, el jugo de lima no ha llegado y tocado la lengua. Simplemente el pensamiento del jugo de lima hace que se les haga agua la lengua. Así también, las personas adoran y veneran a Dios de tal manera que por el pensamiento de las buenas cualidades de la Divinidad, también se inspirarán para cultivar cualidades nobles.

Many people perform ritual worship (puja) to God, adore Him and want to follow Him. For whose benefit are these offerings? They are only for our own benefit and not for God’s! Consider this example. When we think of something exciting in our mind, we find that our words show positive energy and our actions also show excitement. On the other hand, if there are sad thoughts in our mind, then our external body will reflect the sadness our mind is experiencing. Take an even simpler example - think of a lime and think that you are cutting it! If you like lime, you will find saliva on your tongue! Actually, the lime juice has not come and touched your tongue. Merely the thought of the lime juice makes your tongue water. So too, people adore and worship God such that by thinking of the good qualities of the Divine, they will also be inspired to cultivate noble qualities.
