No importa.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Tuesday, November 01, 2011

Today the country is facing a lot of problems because people are not doing enough Namasmarana (repetition of the Lord’s name). Let each and every street reverberate with the singing of divine glory. Let each and every cell of our body be filled with divine name. Nothing else can give you the bliss, courage and strength that you derive from Namasmarana. People may say, “He is a big officer. How is it that he is also doing Namasmarana?” Some people may even make fun of you, do not bother about it. No matter whoever it is, young or old, rich or poor, everybody has to do Namasmarana. You may not have any musical instruments for this. It does not matter. From the depth your heart and sing the glory of God with full mind and total dedication, wherever you are. You can then certainly lead the life of a true human being.

No existe otro refugio.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_ Monday, October 31, 2011

There are many snakes of wicked qualities in the anthill of your heart. When you loudly sing the Name of the Lord (Namasmarana), all the ‘snakes’ of bad qualities will come out. Namasmarana should be the very breath of your life. You must repeat God’s name in order for you to get rid of evil qualities. Today there are many who do not attach any importance to Namasmarana. It is a great mistake. In this Age of Kali only chanting of the Divine Name can redeem your lives. There is no other refuge. Singing the glory of the Lord is highly sacred. Keep your mind clear of evil thoughts as they will produce discordant notes. Only then will you become the recipient of divine grace and energy. You must sing the glory of God wholeheartedly without any inhibition. Then can you can certainly experience divine bliss.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_ Sunday, October 30, 2011

It is hard for people to get rid of pride and self-love or ego (ahamkara), for they have been living in this manner from a very long period of time! Each has been allowing his mind to flow in the direction it likes for ages past. So it is very difficult now to turn it from its accustomed path and bend its steps in another direction. Cultivate the habit of never causing pain to others. You must reform your mental traits and habits. Try to understand others and sympathise with them and help them. Train yourself to take insult and criticism as “decorations” awarded to you. Be friendly with everyone, whatever their nature or conduct. A sense of joy is necessary for spiritual progress, but many things deprive you of the atmosphere of joy. So you must pray sincerely, in order to be free from such obstacles. The recital or repetition of prayers (mantras) will be of great help.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Saturday, October 29, 2011

You must take up the study of scriptures in an attitude of submission and expectancy. Every chapter in the Bhagavad Geetha lays down the means and methods of reaching the goal of peace and harmony, with emphasis on spiritual attitude and practices in life. The Geeta is a boat which takes man across from the self-imposed state of bondage to the freedom which is one’s nature, from darkness to light. The Geetha encourages the aspirant to aspire, not despair. One must persevere, not clamour for quick success. Truly speaking, every being has come into this field of activity (Karmakshetra) only to engage themselves in activity, not in order to earn the fruit of such activity. That is the fundamental lesson taught by the Geetha.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Friday, October 28, 2011

Individuals full of ego love to exercise authority over others. They see everything through glasses coloured by the smoke of selfishness and self-love. “My words are true.” “My opinion is correct.” “My deeds are right.” Such behaviour is very harmful for spiritual aspirants. Aspirants must look forward eagerly to any objective criticism, or suggestion, or advice, from whatever quarter. Also, aspirants must minimise all discussion and argumentation as this breeds a spirit of rivalry and leads one on to angry reprisals and vengeful fighting. Do not struggle to earn the esteem of the world. Do not feel humiliated or angry when the world does not recognise you or your merits. Learn this first and foremost if you are an aspirant for spiritual success. Do not become happy when you are being praised; therein lies a deadly trap, which might even lead you astray and endanger your progress.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Thursday, October 27, 2011

At the time of birth, one has no good or bad qualities. Changes occur in your nature due to the food consumed, the influence of associates etc. One develops ego and attachment through the company one keeps. As you get educated, you develop pride and entertain vainglorious thoughts about your superiority over others. This conceit pollutes the heart. When water gets mixed with milk, milk has to be boiled to make it pure. Likewise one has to undertake various spiritual practices (Sadhana) to purge the heart of impurities. It is only when the heart is melted in the heat of Divine love that you succeed in removing bad qualities. Be clear that you alone are the cause of your fortune, good or bad. God has no share in causing your suffering and you are free to shape your future. Then you will approach God with a firmer step and a clearer mind.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Wednesday, October 26, 2011

The Deepavali festival teaches a profound spiritual truth. On this day an entire array of lamps is lit just by the flame from one lamp. This act signifies that it is the One that has willed to become the Many. That one lamp symbolises the Supreme Effulgent Lord. The others symbolise the light of the individual selves. As long as the demonic qualities remain in man, he will be immersed in darkness. Deepavali has to be observed as a day for getting rid of all the bad qualities in us, symbolised by the demon Narakasura. The destruction of Narakasura symbolises the destruction of evil and the restoration of what is good. This is the inner significance of the festival.

Sai Ram - Symbolism Of Light during Deepavali as explained by Bhagawan

"What is light?
It is the means by which we are able to see various objects. During the day we see things by the light of sun and at night by the light of the moon, stars and lamps. What is it that enables us to know that we are seeing things by sunlight or other sources? It is through the eyes. In the Dream State we see many objects although our eyes are closed. Who is the seer in that state and who is the experiencer of the dream? It is the Buddhi (intelligence) that is able to see things by its own luminosity (Tejas). In the Sushupti (deep sleep) state even the Buddhi is not present, but blissful feeling is experienced. Who is the experiencer of this bliss? That is the Atma (the Indwelling Spirit). "I am the Atma and the Atma is "I" is the truth that has to be recognised by everyone. It is the Atma that activates the Buddhi, which enables the eyes to perceive objects. The Atma is the truth and you are the Atma. It is when this truth is experienced, then alone can man realise the transcendental unity that subsumes everything."

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Aspirants must always have the inward look; if they allow the mind to wander outward, they cannot identify their own faults. It is hard to get rid of pride and self-love or ego (Ahamkara). Each has been allowing their mind to flow in the direction it likes for several ages. Pride prevents the inward look and confuses the examination of the mind. If one wants to achieve success, one must bow down to those who point out one’s faults. That is the way to progress fast in the path of meditation. And they must endeavour not to entertain the faults any longer. With regard to anger, one has to be more vigilant even about the most minor matters that might provoke them, because if they are careless, they cannot progress in the least. Such people must cultivate a humble, loving spirit. Then the bad traits will disappear.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Monday, October 24, 2011

Conceit, jealousy, anger, the craving to inform oneself of the weakness of others and their failings, trickery — all these are obstacles in the spiritual path. Even if these are not patently exhibited, the inner impulses urging one along these wrong directions are latent in the mind. Just as a room kept closed for a long time is opened and found to be dust ridden and foul-smelling, is cleaned and made habitable by elaborate sweeping and dusting, so too the mind has to be cleansed by meditation. Spiritual aspirants must, by inward observation, examine the mind and its contents and condition. By proper disciplinary habits, the accumulated dirt should be removed little by little, systematically. Conceit, for example, is deep-rooted and unyielding. It may appear to be dry and dead for some time, but will sprout again easily. In the mind, it puts forth many branches and spreads in all directions, as soon as a chance arises. So, be ever vigilant.

Sai Ram - Importancia del Día de la Independencia

"¿Qué significa Deepavalli ?

Significa matar al demonio en el hombre." Nara "significa hombre y" Asura "significa demonio.

Buenas palabras. Desarrollen Samyak Drishti (visión sagrada). Llevaen una vida de pureza. Hagan que su vida sea santificada.

Sai Ram - Significance of Deepavali

" What does Deepavalli event signify? It signifies killing the demon in man. 'Nara' means man and 'Asura' means demon. This demon is present in every human being. It is not necessary to acquire great Astras and Sastras (weapons) to kill this demon. Man is called 'Nara' because there is Atma in him. That Atma is the embodiment of love. It is possible to kill the demons only through love. Therefore, realise the Atma Tathva and develop love. This is true Bhakti (devotion).

We are celebrating such a sacred event of killing the demon Narakasura as a festival by preparing so many delicious dishes and feasting on them. But, we are not making any effort to understand the inner meaning of this sacred event. In order to understand the sanctity of this great event, we must join Satsanga (good company). You should not lead a life of selfishness. That is the life of a Vyashti (individual). That is a wasteful life. It is only in Samashti (community) life, can you realise divinity.

You must lead a happy life by identifying yourself with Samashti (society). In fact, Samashti is the embodiment of divinity. Give happiness and take happiness. Happiness is not a one-way traffic, it is a two-way process of give and take. Speak good words. Develop Samyak Drishti (sacred vision). Lead a life of purity. Make your life sanctified.

PENSAMIENTO DEL DIA – 23 DE OCTUBRE 2011

"Allaho Akbar;La Illah ill Allah."

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Sunday, October 23, 2011

“Allaho Akbar; La Illah Ill Allah.” This sacred formula signifies that God is the supreme sovereign; He is the undisputed, unexcelled Ruler of the Creation. He alone is worthy of worship. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says, “There is nothing higher than Me.” The Koran formula says the same. Thus Islam and Hinduism convey the same message. The Holy Koran advises the followers of God to acquire self-confidence and place all burdens on God. One must have implicit faith in the power of God and recognise it every moment to lead a meaningful life. To evidence rectitude in the Durbar (palace) of the Lord, when the end is near, one must follow the straight path laid down by the Lord until the very end. The Holy Koran is the guide till the end. It has to be revered and observed down to the very letter. This is the spiritual instruction observed by the followers of Islam.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Saturday, October 22, 2011

You will attain quick progress in the spiritual path if you overcome the difficult obstacles, viz. anger, pride, conceit, the tendency to discover the faults of others, etc. These operate subconsciously, as the currents in the depths of the ocean. You must be vigilant not to lose your temper on even small things, for that will hinder your progress. Cultivate love and humility towards all. Then, undesirable habits will fall away from you, since anger is the parent of all wrong behaviour. Anger can turn any person into bad ways, any moment, and in any form. So, sublimate it first by systematic effort. Welcome gladly anyone who points out your defects; indeed, be grateful to them. Never entertain hatred against them, for that is as bad as hating the “good”. You must love the “good” and discard the “bad”. Remember, the “bad” should not be hated. It has to be given up, avoided.

Why should I go to Prashanthi Nilayam? What is it that I am going to see there? Who is there to care for me? Who is there to shower love on me? Is there anyone to show equal concern as before? What is it that I get there?”

“What is Samadhi? Why should I see it?” Is it necessary to see it morning and evening, every day? It is just a physical structure made up of cement, sand, iron, marble and stone, that’s all. Why should I go there every day?

We have an electrical switch. Once I switch it on, the current then flows. That switch is the Samadhi. When I put the current on, the current flows unseen. Such is the relationship between me and the Samadhi.

The Samadhi is a sacred place of worship. It receives all the devotion of the devotees and rises in its mighty power. Day-by-day the power increases due to the devotees who come here.

When I go to the Samadhi, I receive energy from Samadhi. I send my love to Samadhi and receive back energy in return.

When you go to Prashanthi Nilayam, when the cool breeze touches you, understand that Baba is touching you. When you smell the sweet fragrance of the flowers—the sweet aroma or scent that comes from the flowers there— it is the movement of Baba in His red robe, walking in front of us.

As we listen to the melodious bhajans there, let us feel that ‘I am listening to Baba’s bhajans, and Baba is talking to me’. When I go closer and closer to the Samadhi, let me feel that my Father wants to have a deep hug. Let me hug Him. Let me have that experience of a hug as I am close to the Samadhi.

The udder of the cow has milk in it. The milk has ghee (clarified butter) in it. But the ghee cannot be a source of strength to one, as such. The milk has to be drawn, yeast added to curdle it, butter has to be churned out and clarified to produce the ghee which, when consumed by one can give one strength. So too, though God is omnipresent, He has to be discovered and cognised in order to realise the bliss. Like oil in mustard, butter in yoghurt, like water inside the earth, like fire in timber, God is present but not patent in everything. God is in the human body and in the human mind. To become aware of Him there, spiritual effort is necessary. When that is undertaken, union with the Supreme within can be realised.

How does this love express itself? It is a process of give and take. You have to receive God's love, and you have to offer your love to Him. But, both are one and the same love. God's love is reflected in you. That is the meaning of the declaration in the Bhagawad Geetha: "A spark of Mine is present in every being."

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_Thursday, October 20, 2011

The game of life is a cosmic play that God is enacting. The actors and actresses, the dialogues, the cues and the songs have all been assembled by Him. He is the cast, the director, and the audience. It is God who manifests Himself and manipulates every being. In the epic Mahabharatha, He filled one side with boundless material strength urged on by unrighteous greed, and the other with apparently limited strength of the Atman, the ever-righteous. In the cosmic confrontation and conflict between these two, the Lord stood forth as the arbiter who brought about the victory of right over might. The core lesson we derive is contained in the Gita—the seeker surrendering, with the words, “Karishye vachanam thava” (Your word shall be obeyed) and the Lord admonishing the seeker, “Swadharme nidhanam sreyah” (In fulfilling the duty assigned to you lies your safety and prosperity.) All work one does every day should be tested on this criterion.

"Manasa Bhajare Gurucharanam Dusthara Bhava Sagara Tharanam"

(Oh mente!

Sai Ram - Avathar Declaration Day

20th October every year is celebrated as the Avatar Declaration Day. It is on this historically significant day in the year 1940 that the young lad Sathyanarayana Raju revealed to the world His Divine identity and the glorious mission on which He has come. The following lines capture the events on that epochal day:

Sathyanarayana started for school as usual. However, within a few minutes, He returned to the house. Standing on the outer doorstep, He cast aside the books He was carrying and called out, “I am no longer your Sathya. I am Sai.” The sister-in-law came from the kitchen, only to be blinded by the splendour of the halo around Baba's head! He addressed her, “I am going; I don't belong to you; Maya (delusion) has gone; My Bhaktas (devotees) are calling Me; I have My Work; I can't stay here any longer." When the brother hurried home on hearing all this, Baba only told him, "Give up all your efforts to 'cure' Me. I am Sai; I do not consider Myself related to you".

In spite of repeated pleas, Sathya would not step into that building again. He moved in into the garden of the Excise Inspector Sri Anjaneyulu's bungalow, and sat on a rock in the midst of the trees. People came into the garden from all directions bringing flowers, fruits, incense and camphor to worship Him. The garden resonated with the voices of hundreds singing bhajans (devotional singing) and following the lines of the first prayer that Sri Sathya Sai taught them.

“Manasa Bhajare Gurucharanam Dusthara Bhava Sagara Tharanam “

(O Mind! Meditate on the Feet of the Guru, which will take you across the wearisome sea of Samsara or worldly existence.)

To celebrate this landmark event in Baba’s life, the Avatar Declaration Day is celebrated every year with devotion and gratitude.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY_ Wednesday, October 19, 2011

Concentration, as per scriptures, is fixing the mind on one object, without any deviation. To concentrate or meditate on God one must have Sathwa-gunas (pure qualities) as the foundation. The mind should be purified by proper treatment of the character through good habits. All effort for concentration without cleansing the mind is a sheer waste of time. Many people have ruined their careers by aspiring early for concentration, without practising the discipline of good habits. Concentration alone can negate hesitation and inactivity, and grant success in any endeavour. In spirituality, taking God’s name and concentrating is essential for meditation, for that alone can ensure quick success. Even if complete faith is not forthcoming quickly, one must not give up or change, for practice will certainly yield victory. Meditation is the spiritual strength that will keep off the disease of Samsara (worldliness).
